A body discovered in a pond near Offerman April 8 has been positively identified, solving a four-month-old missing person’s case.
Brad Crews, 50, has been identified as the person recovered from the pond. Crews was last seen December 22, 2024 and was reported missing shortly after that time.
Arrangements for Crews are pending, but will be with Hart Funeral Home of Blackshear.
Deputy Coroner Wesley Howard confirmed Crews’ identity Thursday after medical examiners made a positive identification using DNA at the Georgia State Crime Lab. The cause of death has still not been determined.
This is a developing story.
A full story will be included in the May 21 edition of The Times.
