Half of the above building, located at 333 West Carter Avenue will, be the new home of the Pierce County Industrial Development and Building Authority. Vacant since April of this year, IDBA Executive Director Blake James hopes to be in the new location later this month.

Pierce County experienced its first heat wave of the season last week with sweltering temperatures accompanied by high humidity and heat indices near 110 degrees. The mercury soared to 102 degrees Saturday afternoon on the Eagle Storage thermometer in Patterson. A cold front moved through the area Sunday bringing with it relief from the heat.

An overhead photo shows crews double-tasking replacing the old US 84 bridge at the Satilla River with two new ones. Some teams are taking down the old bridge while others are building the new westbound structure. When the project is fully completed, new eastbound and westbound bridges will be in place.
